PEN MEETS PATOIS

I was born in Britain to Windrush parents, a loving nurturing mother and a an entrepreneurial father who made a mark in the community. Creativity was always within me but for much of my life I kept my personal creativity quiet. It was not seen as useful in the world I was building. My path took many turns. I became a teacher, a business owner, a foster carer,  and even an amateur artist , author and  tee shirt designer later in life. I joined a drama class Black Arts Theatre Production  in Tottenham and finally gave myself permission to follow the passion that had been whispering to me. Reconnecting with my heritage, Caribbean dialect and the vibrant rhythms of voice and performance. I was encouraged by Judith Jacob and Suzette Llewellyn  find a voice and stretch myself through the drama classes they taught.  I also met  Franco Simpson  and Dickon Tolson both actors and joined  Omegavision Media Production company. Now I bring my life experiences and imagination to write Sister Of Sleep . This play has now been fully recorded and is in the editing process for Audiobooks., It will be on sale by the end of  2025. I now know its never too late to follow a dream.
